Our second team of Allison Shannon (12, Sterling Heights Stevenson), Emily Ferguson (9, Clarkston), Katie Forsyth (10, Royal Oak), and Mallory Ferguson (9, Clarkston) finished 9th place. There were 32 teams in that event. In the Sprint Medley Relay, the guys team of Amun Mehta (11, Troy), Brandon Davis, Joe Schuler, and Leo McManus (12, Troy) placed 15th of 16 teams. For the girls, the team of Alexa Ligon (10, Rochester), Courtney Roland (12, Clarkston), Aubrey Gallacher (12, Rochester), and Casie Nadasky (10, Rochester) ran well, but were unfortunately disqualified due to a race infraction.

On Saturday, the relays kept going with the first event, 4x800m IMG_2918Relay. In the guys race, the team ran within a second of our season best with a 8:47.83 and placed 23rd of 31 teams. The girls went back to the podium with their 4th place finish. The team of Megan Worell, Emily Ferguson, Mallory Ferguson, and Hannah Palomino ran 9:49.44. Both Bryn Ropeta (12, Rochester Stoney Creek) and Courtney Roland had an incredible day in the 60m Hurdles. Both ladies ran season best times in the semis, 9.87 and 9.85 respectively. They both went on to beat those times again in the finals, running 9.69 and 9.70! In the end Bryn was able to capture the last All-State position with her 8th place finish. Nicole Hanson, returning from Friday’s DMR, earned individual all-state honors by placing 6th (5:09.66) in the 1600m, and Mallory Ferguson finished with a 5:28.24. The day ended appropriately for the club with another All-State relay. The team of Joe Schuler, Brandon Davis, Marcus Jackson (10, Royal Oak), and Leo McManus beat our season best time by almost 8 seconds, and finished 8th place (3:35.58).
